House Mortgage -- Countdown

Unfortunately, it looks like our taxes (State and Federal) are going up next year since one child has hit 18 and both will graduate HS. Thus, some money that we were going to redirect to the mortgage will have to go into the Black Holes.

hopefully just 2 or 3 payments to $0 balance...
Ours is down to $10,763. Do you find yourself look for things to sell or ways to save even more or make extra cash? I do! I'm ready to sell the shirt off my back so I can be mortgage free!! It's so close that I've been actually dreaming about it

Thanks - this has been an exercise in patience for me, but this year I decided to pay it off as I have had enough cash to wipe it out. I've made 4 large lump sum payments and more than double monthly payments since summer 2015. When done it will be 94k (plus interest) paid in full since June 2013. We'll see if it was the right move years from now; I'm 39.Originally posted by Frugal_Cheap_Pants View PostKudos!!

Good luck to you on your quest to be mortgage free!

Congratulations, Jluke.
When we payed off our mortgage four years ago, it did not feel like a big deal. However, I now feel a security and foundation that I had not felt before. It's good. I was like that about our CC debt. Not so much about the mortgage, though.Originally posted by Frugal_Cheap_Pants View PostKudos!!
