Bruce Jenner married Kris Jenner, formerly Kris Kardashian, and became a member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. That, in combination with her Olympic Gold Medal win and the work she does for the transgender community, has led to Caitlyn Jenner’s massive $100 million net worth.
How Did Caitlyn Grow Her Net Worth?
Caitlyn Jenner was born as Bruce Jenner in 1949 in Mount Kisco, New York. He was always an exceptional athlete, who started off playing football and even landed a full-ride scholarship to Graceland College. In a change of events, Bruce stopped playing football due to a knee injury.
However, this was when track and field coach LD Weldon approached Bruce as a decathlon runner which set his foundation for succeeding in the Olympics. In 1976, he set a new world record by winning the gold medal. This set Jenner up for numerous endorsement deals including deals with Wheaties, IBM, and Coca-Cola. Despite these earnings, Jenner and wife Kris Jenner still reportedly had financial problems due to their lifestyle.
In an episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians, Kris Jenner commented that while they had ‘jet skis, motorboats, snowmobiles, and a house on Lake Tahoe’ the truth was that they owed at least six figures in taxes – essentially, they didn’t have any money and a low net worth to go with it. Over the years, the couple’s finances took a turn for the better as they got smarter about their money and developed sustainable streams of income.
More recently, Jenner established another income stream by starring in her family’s show, Keeping up with the Kardashians. When Caitlyn revealed her transition to the world in 2015 via a two hour television special with ABC’s 20/20, 16.9 million viewers tuned in making it one of the most-watched programs on the large network in over a decade.
Since then, Caitlyn has made a significant amount of money as a motivational and public speaker, and by starring in popular reality shows like ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’ and ‘I am Cait’.
How Much Can Caitlyn Be Worth in the Future?
Last year, financial analysts predicted that Jenner’s actual network would potentially increase to as much as $500 million. According to their prediction, Jenner’s story is a ‘platform to explode her already impressive net worth’. It seems like a lot of people are interested in and motivated by her story judging by the sheer amount of people who tuned in to her debut interview about the transformation.
While Jenner earned anywhere from $20,000 to $40,000 per public speaking gig as Bruce, she is set to earn around $100,000 per public speaking gig as Caitlyn. Another part of Caitlyn’s revenue will come from her docu-series on the E! Network, ‘I Am Cait’.
Caitlyn has come a far way from humble beginnings as an athlete and as long as she can spend, save, and invest her money wisely, she should see a positive increase in net worth as experts predict.
