  • Some more possiblities for making money

In my latest AARP magazine, it had an article on "When you need cash quick" and one of the suggestions was to join a Focus Group. It listed two of them, neither of which looked like scams. One is Fieldwork http://www.fieldwork.com/join and the other is Schlesinger Associates http://www.schlesingerassociates.com..._opinions.aspx I filled out an application for both of them and so we will see. Interestingly enough, although the article was supposed to be for ways to makes cash quick, none of the ideas were ways to actually make quick cash, but might take a month or more to earn anything which is not my idea of 'quick'. Quick cash means some way to be able to buy groceries when the fridge and cupboard are empty now! You could starve to death waiting to accumulate enough money in a month to go to the grocery store!

The other day I applied to be on CVS consumer panel and so far, I have made 2 $10 in bonus bucks to be used at CVS which is fine with me. Had one survey on Wens and one yesterday. I was surprised to get two just a day apart so it will be interesting to see how often I am offered them plus along with my usual bonus bucks that I earn just by shopping. The surveys didn't take more than about 5 minutes to complete also. Giving it 10 minutes max, that is $60/hour!

I've done work for Schlessinger for years on the professional side. I do both online studies and in-person one-on-one or focus group programs in Philadelphia. I haven't done much for them lately due to my schedule but in 2015 I earned over $1,500 from them. I'm actually hoping that once I leave my practice in September, I'll have more time free to do their programs. I get invites every week that I have to decline.

I belong to both, but I don't want to have to travel to downtown Chicago to do their in-person interviews, and I haven't been selected for any of their phone or online interviews. My sister belongs to both companies and doesn't have any problems getting paid, or driving downtown. I really hate downtown.

I've only had an issue one time when my focus group let out right in the heart of rush hour. It took me almost 90 minutes to get home, normally a 20 minute drive. Had I thought ahead, I could have gone in with the train and avoided that.

I'm about 30 miles from downtown. On a good day, it takes between an hour to 1.5 hrs one way. The last time I got stuck in rush hour, it took 4 hrs to get home. Rush hour is 2pm to 7pm here.

I can't even imagine living in a place with that sort of rush hour. Rush hour in my town lasts maybe 5-10 minutes when some of the plants let out at 3PM!

Equity acquisition could be another venture to look at but do your research before buying any equity...if the company is good ...hold on..you shall make money in the long run...Mantra in equities is simple ...buy on the falling markets and sell in the rising markets...the approach adopted should be however be stock specific or company specific..repeat do your research else be ready to lose money as well.
