  • Making Money Video Gaming

Another money making opportunity came across my radar screen yesterday. If you are an avid video gamer and you broadcast your stuff, you might be able to make some money charging your fans to view you gaming

The platform that seems to be driving this is Amazon's subsidiary - twitch.tv.

How the model works is: popular gamers on twitch are offered the option to charge users a fee of $4.99 per month to view the gamer's channel. Twitch takes half, and the other half goes to the gamer.

In order to make money playing games, you have to

    1. Male: Top player who won championships
    2. Male: Goofy and extremely funny
    3. Female: Huge knockers and cute..plus knows how to use a mouse

      Singuy,

The article addressed that point. A lot of popular lady gamers are popular because they are good not because of physical attributes.

In any event, the model works for both sexes.

This is one thing I am working on with my kids (especially my son). They watch these videos on Youtube & Twitch all the time. He is getting really good at gaming too and can tell everything about them in detail. I am wondering what equipment is needed to broadcast and also the editing software they use to make the cool videos. My background when I was younger was video production, but it was way harder 15 years ago to edit, and now everything is digital and easy. If anyone knows some simple start up info for this, please let me know!

Wrong? No, not wrong. Insensitive and showing bad manners, yes.

The reality is that people can and do make money gaming. Check out players like Optic Nadeshot. He's made hundreds of thousands winning Call of Duty championships.

We're good friends and she already games. I just told her how crazy some of those twitch streamer incomes are. When you see a $500 donation announcement...like, WHAT?

Mike - oh sorry, I misunderstood.

Yeah man, people like to watch other people gaming.

Ya this is a great opportunity for big time gamers, not so much for the little gamers...

As a bonus, any Amazon Prime members are now also automatically Twitch prime members for free, so please be sure to sign up and link your accounts, if you haven't already done so.

You get free loot boxes from several popular games for free.

You get to ignore Twitch ads.

You get the warm fuzzy feeling of being a "somebody" on Twitch, since subbed members indirectly pay streamers, so they tend to notice you a tiny bit more if that matters to you.

I've tried streaming before. I think if you are playing games, you literally have nothing to lose and everything to gain by streaming... uh provided that you don't have crap internet access. Worst case is nobody notices you, which is admittedly most of the time, but it won't hurt your game either. I also find the streaming programs useful for recording people cheating or funny moments, which I have posted once on YouTube to share.

However, I ultimately decided not to stream because I am more interested in privacy and anonymity than fame and gain. Sooo yeah, but that's just me.

James, what is your Twitch channel link? I'll try to look you up some time.

Tabs - I'm not much into gaming anymore. I had kids. : )

That said, a lot of people spend a ton of time gaming. League of Legends, World of Warcraft, Skyrim, Eve Online, etc. And if you have a lot of followers, you might as well get paid to do what you love.

I still play Eve Online, Albion Online, and Heroes of the Storm from time to time. If you ever want to team up for any of them, let me know.

There are a lot of channels for a twitch from severe bearded uncles, but young girls with big tits gather the largest audience.

The wealthiest gamers make money from more than anatomy.

Optic Nadeshot is the world's best Call of Duty player. He makes money from twitch, prizes, as well as endorsements.

It's not that easy. Twitch.tv stuff are very serious are female streamers. If she does not actually provide meaningful gaming content, she WILL be reported and banned from Twitch.

Long story short, it's not enough to be good-looking to make money there.
