I just started my blog the first of this month (this is after 3 other failed blog attempts) and am up to 8000 unique visitors so far. My site isn't optimized for SEO, however I need to start working on that soon.
The first blog post I had generated almost 40 dollars in amazon affiliate commissions but haven't really made many commissions since that post. I need to focus on how to advertise and get people to click. Right now I'm still in the process of trying to obtain traffic. Getting traffic to your website is much more difficult than I thought. It takes a lot of time and patience. For example, if it takes me 4 hours to write a blog post, I will take at least 8 hours trying to get out there promoting it.
It's a lot of work to get started but I'm keeping my fingers crossed it will pay off in the long run.
