It is definitely not worth it, because you won't be productive at work. 5 hours of sleep isn't enough to allow you to properly function for 17 hours. I highly recommend you don't do it.

is working 17 hours a day worth it

If it's an extremely short time it wouldn't be bad. But, for the long haul...no way.
It's probably not very healthy to have absolutely no free time and even less sleep time.
Before I built my own online business and quit my job I had to put in several hours after I was done working for the day at my full-time job. But, the reward at the end was the ability to quit my job.
So, keep that in mind that if it's a short time and the end result betters your life. But, in a situation where it likely won't better your life and cause health problems, no.

This sounds a little extreme to me! How long are you going to do it? It has to have an effect on your productivity at one of the jobs.Originally posted by skives View Postso right now I work 6am to 2pm 5 days a week. There is a job here in town working 3pm to 11pm fours days a week. Is it worth the extra income to work 17 hours a day and get 5 hours of sleep?

If your health permits, you may work for 17 hours. But I’m sure it will take a toll on your heath. Unless you have some serious emergency, it will be better to not consider this idea. If your health goes wrong, then it won’t lead you anywhere!

I agree with those saying this not being healthy. That said, we all have different circumstances. When i first came to the use, I had 3 different jobs each paying me $7 an hour. So, I had to work 16-19 hours a day. But I had to do it, otherwise I wouldn't be able to pay my bills.
I am thankful for those days as they have thought me a lot and I think made me even stronger.
Anyway, if you really dont need the money (I know we all want more money but you know what I mean), try to put your health ahead of it. Good luck.
