Has anyone made money selling their Ebooks or other Ebooks on EBay or other places? I've thought about writing some Ebooks on Family Personal Finance but just haven't read enough about it and if it's profitable at all.
Yes, I've made money on both Amazon.com, BN.com, and a little on Google books. I haven't been able to make any money on Apple iBookStore though. It requires a lot of Social Media advertising (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.), and by making sales in the above electronic bookstores, it pushes your ranking up, and further helps promote your books via their internal search engines. That said, you need to consistently be involved in Social Media promotion, or your sales will drop off, which I have seen happen several times.
What I love about electronic publishing is that the barrier to entry is much lower than it is for traditional "in print" publishing, and the cost (if you are a do-it-yourself techie) is virtually ZERO. The lifeline tool for electronic publication is a public domain tool called Calibre, which you can Google.
By the way, I have not yet sold any books on eBay, for one reason and one reason only -> there is no DRM (Digital Rights Management) protection on your sale via eBay. Typically, you will just sell a PDF version of your book, and this can be freely circulated. If you sell through one of the electronic publishers above, you have the option of protecting your tome with DRM, which I think is invaluable. Are there tools on the Internet that can break DRM ? Absolutely, but the average guy doesn't know how to do that.

Reason: Additional eBay info
I don't personally believe that the market for eBooks is flooded. There are always people looking to pick up a skill or learn some information from a credible source (read: someone who's been there). The tough part is marketing. It's all in the marketing. Other than that, wide open.
I have written an ebook 3 years ago that has been released under Creative Commons license. I did not intend to make money on that, it is still downloadable for free.
3 months ago I found someone selling it on the internet for about 100$ / "piece".
I felt angry...
What would you do?
Ebook got sold at eBay especially those contains basic information. I suggest you to write eBooks compiling info about the subject that you are good enough.
I read a book called the $100 startup. It was largely based on writing an ebook to generate extra income. Although I have not tried it yet, I highly recommend the book to get started.
