We called both our internet provider and trash service last week to "cancel" service.

The internet provider came down $80 per month, and the trash company came down $150 per quarter with just the threat of taking our business elsewhere.

30 minutes on the phone, and we saved over $1500 a year




Next, I'm going to call our insurance company and our cable provider.

Good for you, every bit helps. I did the same recently with Comcast, our TV/Internet/Phone service was well over $300. a month and I called complaining and it was lowered by almost a $100. I only wish we had a more than one garbage company to deal with. We pay something like $90. a month for garbage and recycling. Water and Sewer is another, we pay around $200. a month during the summer and there's no alternative.

Although I consider myself lucky to be able to afford it, I don't know how some of these people get by who aren't as lucky as I am. All these bills add up.

I should do that and try to get our Internet down. With health insurance going up over $500/mo in January finding some savings elsewhere would be nice.

Trash is municipal so our taxes pay for that.
