$53 annual service (not monthly service charge) for Magic Jack. Had this service for over a decade which used to be $30 a year (not a month). Very good service which replaced my home phone with AT&T which was $50 a month for phone service ($600 a year) which was similar to a highway robbery.

Yeah, I had magicJack for a while years back, when I lived overseas the last time, for calling back to the states. Back then (2010), web calling (facetime, whatsapp, etc.) was not nearly as prevalent as today. But as a home phone, the price really can't be beat. Only problem with it is that when the internet or power goes down, so does your phone, which isn't always the case with traditional copper lines.

Spectrum gave my mom a bundled deal porting over her traditional copper wire phone line into an internet phone which she had for almost a century (85 years old). I tried to explain that if the power goes down her internet phone with Spectrum won't work but she is more concerned about the "savings" with the bundled rate.

Actually with Magic Jack I am using the app so even if the power goes out my Magic Jack still works.

I'm no longer using the Magic Jack dongle thing.

This is the fees for Red Pocket which I just signed up for now. Upon signing up they give the option of choosing AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile. I chose AT&T. Mint mobile's international roaming skyrocketed to $10 a day roaming so I jumped ship.

I'm satisfied with Red Pocket (AT&T) mobile service. With Mint mobile (T-Mobile) and prior to Mint mobile I had T-Mobile there was a dead spot for about a 7 mile stretch on the I-5 between San Onofre (Orange County) and Camp Pendelton (San Diego County) which parallels the Pacific Ocean coastline. What made matters worse was that stretch always has choke traffic on Saturdays so while sitting in traffic could not surf the internet and all I could do was look at pics saved in my phone. Today with Red Pocket while stuck in traffic at that 7 mile stretch I was surprised to see that everything worked while surfing the internet. Also, while in Mexico my data speeds seemed faster with AT&T compared with T-Mobile's international roaming but for some reason speeds are throttled in Mexico regardless of the carrier where I get 4G and often 3G and never get 5G in Mexico but I'm just happy to have any service in Mexico.
