  • no show appointment

So our LMHC was in a car accident a few weeks ago. Not surprisingly she's been out of commission for like 3 weeks. Earlier this week they said her appointment wednesday with DK2 was cancelled. Her appointment thursday (yesterday) was "on." at 6:30 PM pst. We've been seeing this practice almost 2 years now. So I called yesterday morning asking for a virtual visit and confirmation around 9 am. At 3 pm I called again and asked and the front desk said they had no idea. So DH took DK1 to her appointment and they sat there for 20 minutes. I did NOT want the $50 no-show charge right???

Well the LMHC provider no showed us. I am pissed at the front desk. Okay I feel total sympathy for our person and think they should have just cancelled all her appointments and I would have been TOTALLY cool about it. But having us show up in person so WE aren't charged the $50 no-show appointment fee which we all know now applies to appointments we don't show up to I'm pissed.

I left a scathing email and left a voicemail today at the office. No call back. I'm just annoyed as well. What should they do?

So you called and confirmed but the provider didn’t show up and the office staff was unaware they weren’t coming. I’d be angry too. That’s no way to run a practice or treat your patients. I’d definitely complain to the provider and office manager.

I'd be angry too. Who is in charge of the practice? Are you able to go up the food chain to a higher up?

Yes, wait until you're calmer, then find the person who is in charge on LinkedIn and communicate with them.

You have every right to be upset. And, like it or not, they need to hear from you. The management may not even know their staff are messing up.
