Well, I am back to the drawing board on this expense. My 12 month discount expired and my Comcast bill jumped up to $83.10. I gave them a call and was told that the deal I was on doesn't even exist anymore, and the best he could do for me was offer a $5/month discount. I told him that wasn't going to cut it and I would be calling back in the near future to cancel.

I had some Verizon junk mail laying around from them offering old customers a special deal. The numbers in the HUGE font looked great, but unfortunately all of the fees jacked the price up to $83.84 for Internet plus Local channels. Although the Internet speed was double what we have, I don't have any issue with streaming with what we have with Comcast.

So it looks like we are going to go with what I wanted in the first place, INTERNET ONLY. My after fees & taxes price with Verizon will be $40.69. A deal they were unwilling to give me when I left them a little over a year ago.

Just need to make the call and schedule the switch.

We haven't had television for almost 20 years. For a time, we checked out movies at the library. That worked out really well for us.

Now we have a mac mini hooked to a large sony tv which acts as a large monitor so we watch all tv from the internet. My son has us on his Netflix & Amazon Prime Movies but we never watch it. Usually it's just documentaries and some movies that show up on youtube.

One of my clients has Comcast or Xfninity (the remote reads) it reminds me that even if it was free, I would never consider ordering it.

Oh man we have no choice. Comcast. I wish I could switch to anything else back and forth even just for internet.
