Which banks personal Loan would be preferable?

  • #2
We'll need WAY more details to effectively answer.

Rates are low across the board, so that is probably a non issue.

A smaller local bank or credit union would probably be more willing to work with and cater to your individual situation however.
I've always had a better experience dealing with local banks as opposed to the large national chains.

The bank with the lowest rate and the best terms.

Go to bankrate.com, or just use Google.

Start by looking at rates, but always look at the terms. Things like origination fee and similar can add up making the rates not as attractive. APR is a better way to evaluate at times. When comparing, don't look just at banks as online lenders are often able to compete.

Shop around and compile a list of prospective lenders, depending on your location, including banks and NBFCs. Compare the interest rate and check the other loan terms, such as tenure, other fees&charges, repayment terms, etc. Read all documentation carefully to know hidden charges and costs, such as pre-payment or foreclosure fees.

Check for special offers and discounts. Most public sector banks and private banks are suitable for personal loans. There is not much difference in the rate of interest and processing fees. As long as you can service the loan in time throughout its tenure, it doesn't make any substantial difference.

I prefer loans from direct lenders for various reasons. Banks don't always have an offer that suits all my requirements. Mostly, I get payday loans in 15 minutes whenever I need extra money, or I know the amount of money I have won't be enough until the next salary. The banks have too complicated policies for customers like me, but I agree, if you're speaking about a bigger sum, the bank it's the safest solution. My credit history is not that impressive, but you should try a direct lender, I think this is much more convenient.
