Let me tell you I know many people with the 2017 tax reform unhappy because between state income and property taxes they are paying more even with the cut in brackets. I would love the simplified tax return of flat tax. I'd like to see everything taxed the same. Buffet always mentions and put a bet out if "any" rich person paid more than his secretary. Because his secretary is obviously very well paid w2 employee. But everyone else in the room like him paying 15% or 23.8% on dividend and investment income. He was talking about % not dollar for dollar seemed ridiculous that he would pay less than his secretary % wise.

Definitely. Lots of people I know were affected by Trump's tax hike, myself included.

Aussie tax system sucks the lower/middle income pay more tax than businesses...some big businesses don't even pay tax....my daughter owed last year and she worked part time and was a full time student...its ridiculous...our govt believes in giving more to the rich and screw the poor....

So pretty much exactly the same as the US.

How about filing your taxes, though? Is that complicated in Australia? It's a bear here because of all of the rules and guidelines and deductions and credits and income limits and more.
