  • HVAC finance question

I'm finally replacing my 18 year old AC/furnace units due to an AC leak. Timing for replacement is actually good since we haven't had our first heat wave yet. The set I'm most interested will be 5760 total after rebates.

I originally planning on paying cash. Which gets another 2% off, or saving another 115 off the price. However, they're offering 15 month 0% free financing on that brand. That's another reason I decided to go with Trane instead of the others brands they offered.

At this point I'm thinking of doing the financing and pay it off in full next year. Which option would you do? Save the 2% now with cash payment, or finance and pay in full next year?

If I had the cash, I would pay it upfront for the discount. It's pretty rare to make more than 1% on your money in a year in a saving account. I've done this for my daughter's braces and it was nice to just have it all paid and not worry about checking on billing every visit!
