  • You know whats not a good money move?

Opening a CC to save $100 on airfare, paying it off but then forgetting to cancel before the $95 annual membership fee hits Well at least I still saved $5! haha

Well, that is certainly what they are hoping for.

    Bummer!

Many cards will refund annual fees if you close the account within the first few months. If it has been a year, you are likely out of luck. Those credit card rewards are only worth it if we can keep track of the requirements.

Why not call and ask it be cancelled and credit back the fee? Nothing to lose, sometimes they can be quite flexible.

Definitely worth a call to try.

Whenever I have a trial membership or something else I have to cancel at a certain point to avoid being charged, I put it on my calendar so I get a notification that day reminding me to call.

You should cancel when you get the statement! Better to cancel earlier, but you can still cancel.

Yeah that suck, that's why i don't sign up for CC with an annual fee anymore. I always tend to forget to cancel it all the time.
