  • The 5 Principles of Frugal Living

I've always understood being frugal is not wasting things when you don't have to, even if you can. Not a difficult concept at all.

I like lorraineb's description. I agree that being frugal is simply about not wasting, even when you can, and that all really comes down to personal choice.
    History will judge the complicit.

Its hard to do that in a society that bases advancement on material wealth. Theres a lot of pressure on people to to become a multimillionaire, and if your not then you are a failure. They don't look at the things you do, only the things you have. It is unfortunate.

Frugality is bad for the economy.

I believe frugal living is about being wise with what you have.

I like that!! I've never really thought of myself as 'frugal' and i've always associated frugality as being rather restricted and repressive! But like a lot of others, i suppose i've misunderstood what it really means.

I'm not wasteful, i was raised in a household where very little was ever wasted especially when it came to food and i've continued with that as an adult within my own household.
