Paid off car!

We just sent in our final check for our car this week! It seems like a lot of folks have been paying off their car loans of late and was wondering if all of you took part in the cash for clunkers deal.

Now the fun part of how to allocate the extra 400 bucks we are going to have.

Congrats! Yes, I paid off mine last week also. No, I didn't take part in cash for clunkers. I don't remember the details but I don't think our cars were eligible and I think you had to buy a new car which we had no intention of doing. I just bought my car last June, long after cash for clunkers happened.

As for the freed up cash, in our case, it is going toward my wife's car that we just bought this June.

I think most of that money is just going to go into a car fund to replace my 94 olds in a few years.

Great to know that you have paid off your car loan. What a great relief it must be! You can create an emergency fund with $400 that you will save every month. It will be a great help to you in times of need.

Congrats! I have to say that having a car loan even if you can pay it off is a bit of a burden over ones head. I can't wait for our loans to be gone.
