I'm glad you went with a bigger space. T

hings were going great with my husband and I up until we actually moved in together after the honeymoon. I discovered that I need more alone time. Now I send my husband to the other side of our house so that I can get some peace and quiet.

Just as a further update to this, I moved into the new house about a week ago. Future-wife will be moving stuff in the week before the wedding, then taking up permanent residence after we return from our honeymoon.

I really think it's a perfect amount of space (not much over 800 square feet), and being totally "detached" is really nice. It's taken me awhile to get used to just how quiet it can be with nobody living directly above or besides you.

Clearly we are paying a bit of a premium to be in a "cute" place, with a backyard and kitchen setup that allows us to have groups of friends over easily, but it's still a net savings over our previous housing expenditures.

Thanks for all the input. Looking forward to starting this new chapter together!
