Auto Insurance Quotes: Compare Costs for All Cars - MSN Money

Great list. Basiclly shows how much one car can differ from another.
The only thing that bothers me is this AVG is to vague because like Disneysteve said you can be at either end of the spectrum. Just because a car is newer or more expensive does not mean that it will be more expensive then an older cheaper car. If you look some economy cars are more expensive to insure then expensive luxury cars.

From my understanding insurace companies base it on:
    Cost
    Safety
    Power
Rate of car accidents with that perticular car.
    Cost of previous payouts.

This is all before they even consider the driver and the zipcode.

Another tip is to shop even every 6 months when your policy is ending. Every 6 months right before it renews i call 10 diffrent insurance compaines and tell them that i am renewing and that if they can come back with a signifcantly better price then i would change over to them. For 50 dollars per 6 months i will not change but if i am saving 200-300 i would go with the headache and change. I had Geico untill they shot my rates up. I told they there was no reason for that since i had no accidents or tickets. There response was that the car cost more to insure then they originally thought. I told them i have a quote for 800 less per 6 months and even better coverage, they didnt even care. Ohh well thier loss.

I think its 100/300k and 500 deductibles across the board.
24yo/m married. Homeowners with the same company. Chicago suburbs.
Perfect driving record, I've never made a claim or gotten a ticket.
Fico was 786 last time I checked.
I'm really looking forward to the big price drop when I turn 25.
