IRS Rebate screw up
The IRS has deposited some stimulus checks in the wrong bank accounts, according to Newsday.
"We do know of instances of problems; we've heard of situations where stimulus checks have gone to the wrong people's bank accounts," Kevin McKeon, a spokesman for the tax agency, tells the paper. "We're getting a lot of calls to the toll-free number."
The other day, a woman in upstate New York told the Times Herald-Record that her rebate had been deposited in a bank account in Illinois.
*I read they they are getting 2 million phone calls a day! No wonder I couldnt get through when I tried calling this week.
