Thanks. I knew that some people in these forums would criticize me for not being frugal. I have the means to afford a luxury car, while saving 30% of my salary every month, in addition to contributing the maximum allowed to my 401(k) plan. Would I save even more money driving a Toyota Corolla? Absolutely! However, I am already on pace to reach my retirement goal by the age of 60, so I don't see anything wrong with enjoying the car I am driving now. It's all relative to income and savings. For some people, a $15K car is a luxury; you can't just look at the price tag and make a judgment.

Lovely car! My car says cheap, broke, and bad driver. Sigh, if only my DH would be a better driver I "might" be more willing to spend more on a car. As it is, I think the less the better. So when it gets damaged, I don't cry as much.

Not sure what Toyota tells about people...
I'm driving a 2003 Camry with almost 55k, bought brand new and hoping to drive it very very long. DH drives 1997 Corolla with almost 100k. It's still in good shape but I think we'll have to replace it in foreseeable future.

Aleta, I agree with what you said. My husband is a workaholic and has worked 7 days a week ever since I met him. He deserves to drive what he wants. He has a t shirt that says, "life is too short to drive an ugly car"

It's cool Safari, nice ride

We traded our 03 Murano for 06 Honda Odyssey EX-L. It came with GPS Nav, DVD player for the kids, and a rear view camera (a must for the wife)which I paid $32K near invoice. In 2.3 years it will be paid off, if not sooner. I also bought a 2 hand car commuter-friendly (CASH for $3K) 95 Nissan Altima. We view ourselve more practical parents than anything else.

My cars say that even if I am old, I still feel like a kid!! (2008 yellow vette, 2004 red vette, 1978 tu tone blue vette, and 1933 ford victoria. (a zz top kind of car)

I'm very, very impressed!! There's something to be said about a female that can appreciate a sports car.
