"Actions to pare the federal government workforce by the newly created Department of Government Efficiency advisory board, led by Elon Musk, were not captured in the January data."

An important factor to keep in mind here. The firing of tens of thousands of Federal workers isn't reflected in this data. In fact, being January data, the new administration was only in place for 10 days. A much better measure will be the February data and the months that follow.

      History will judge the complicit.
