Actually, the original "prediction" was something to the effect that May 21 would be the start of a series of natural disasters culminating on October 21. That was actually to be the date of the end of the world. I guess he did that to cover himself when the first date came and went uneventfully.

I've heard that he's made millions of dollars(as you can imagine!) off this stuff. People will continue to follow him I'm sure. This gives a better understanding of those who fall for Ponzi schemes and various other frauds. These guys have a way of attracting vulnerable minds who should know better and they always have an out when things don't go as projected. I wonder if he knows or cares about the lives he's ruining.

I'm sure he knows and obviously if he cared, he wouldn't be doing it. All he cares about is the millions of dollars he has taken in as a result of this scam.

You can ignore my first news link - it was bad news reporting.

Turns out that cult leader now says that the rapture DID happen just as expected. We just couldn't see it, is all. Didn't go as he expected. So Oct. 21 is his original "end of the world" prediction, yes. Not a new one.

Please also note that he just temporarily left his house.

He never sold, or gave away his possessions. Still has a nice home. And his 'ministry' didn't give away their millions of assets either.

So maybe they didn't really believe this junk they were preaching. They just wanted the press (IMO).


People like this give the rest of us Christians a bad name.

I believe Jesus will literally come back one day - and I also believe Him when He said, "no man knows the day or the hour" (Matt 24:36) and again when he said "For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be" (Matt 24:27)

ie. - when he comes back, you'll know it. It won't be some vauge 'spiritual' rapture. It will be real, and you'll know it when it happens. (but not until it happens)

No one will know when Jesus will come only the Father knows the exact time but there will be signs.
