I'm in the early stages of buying a franchise. The biggest hangup for me at this point is healthcare. Currently, our family insurance is provided through my employer and its not an option through DHs as he works PT. Where do I start researching my options and what costs I should expect?
I checked out healthcare.gov this weekend. I actually thought the cost seemed relatively reasonable for a gold or silver package -- similar to what we pay now with actually a lower deductible. This was based on my projected first year earnings and a small subsidy due to the low first year income. I would anticipate it to go up in year two once the business is more established because I don't think we'd qualify for a discount anymore. I only knew about this option because of all the hype lately. Are there other avenues that are worth exploring?
My business will not have any full time employees besides me, if that matters.
