How many people here invest their serious money on their own?

i put my money on the bank. i don't go for high risk investments.

I use an advisor and it has worked well for me. The fees aren't bad and I'm sure I've avoided mistakes over the years because of good advice. I could probably do it on my own but I'm satisfied with my results currently.

Keeping all of your money in the bank creates one of the highest risks of all - that you won't have enough money to meet your needs and goals. Playing it "safe" really isn't so safe.

Angelynne: you are the biggest risk taker of us all! The media thrives on fear and alarm but you know you are not in danger of insurgents in day-to-day living. You are losing as your money buys less and less. How much income has your saving earned in the last month? How much had the account paid since 1/1/11? I hope you will re-exam your plan.

Yes, our investments move up and down with the economy and market currents but over the l-o-n-g term we see our net worth continuing to increase. Being mindful of economic events allow us to make small adjustments to reduce bumps.

I invest money in stock market with the help of my uncle. I also like to invest in companies bonds scheme, fixed deposits, etc. this are done by myself. In this u get fixed return after some time. No risk.
