Not fair. I wish they had something like that for adults. LOL. "Learn how to gain your financial freedom, here's an actual savings account rate you can be proud of!"

        Thanks, Joan. This is incredible!

Hopefully, it will inspire our youngest generation to save.

Can't chase that when the deposit limits are so low and the interest could change at any time.

Huh. I currently have DDs savings in an ING account earning like .25%... its the only account I have with them. Maybe I need to start looking around for a high interest account in my area. My checking does great with my local credit union but their kids club isn't anything special. Thanks for posting this!

                ING account

ING has free savings accounts (money market, so limits on withdrawals per month) that are currently at 1%...maybe you should consider moving the money there?

Sounds awesome to me. Do you know if the account can be open online? All I saw was a request information form. Would love a quick and easy online application.

The rate on the checking account is great also, but too many requirements for my taste. The debit card transactions is the main issue for me. I typically only use it for groceries and I don't have 10 transactions per month. I don't write any checks so that requirement is no big deal. Definitely worth considering though.

I got the following from FCNB today. The only way you can get this deal is if you can make it to one of their branches, all 7 of which are located in Missouri.

                    Dear David,

I have received your request for information about FCNB's Kid's Club Savings Accounts. We are unable to open accounts online. It is required that you visit one of our branches in person for the initial account opening. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
