  • Any Help With Funds?

I have $3000,00 to play around with right now.

    What would you choose?

VFINX Apr 19 120.99 Up 0.69 Up 0.57% N/A Chart, Message, Profile, more...
NAESX Apr 19 37.07 Up 0.13 Up 0.35% N/A Chart, Message, Profile, more...
VGTSX Apr 19 16.25 Up 0.13 Up 0.81% N/A Chart, Message, Profile, more...
VTSMX Apr 19 33.08 Up 0.18 Up 0.55% N/A Chart, Message, Profile, more...
VIVAX Apr 19 21.92 Up 0.13 Up 0.60% N/A Chart, Message, Profile, more...
VISVX Apr 19 16.76 Up 0.04 Up 0.24% N/A Chart, Message, Profile, more...

I want to be right in the middle of risk and conservative. However, I don't mind moderately risky since I can loose the money? Thanks!

Hehe. You should check out how long the fund has been around and who manages it. And of course you should check the return.

If the fund has a good return, been around awhile and has the same manager(s), you should be in business. Oh and make sure the sector has good outlook too!

You could get a guaranteed 18% return by putting it in the Pride of Austin High Yield Fund 1. It's a regulation D security, and filed with the SEC. Check it out: atxinvestormasterminds.com/real-estate-investing-fundamentals/pride-of-austin-high-yield-fund/

Let's see...fees of up to 2%, minimum investment of $25k, and no long term track record. As soon as I get that million from my long lost African relatives that recently died, I'll be sure to cut you a check.

I suggest you sit down with a CFP, discuss your goals, and form a solid plan.

You can choose to use one who works for Vanguard and receive a substantial discount due to the amount of your assets, or you can choose one affiliated with the Garrett Financial Network.

If it were me, I would go the Garrett route.

I met with 2 garret advisers last week. I am having a hard time deciding on one. The one I felt the most comfortable with wants to charge me $2,000 for a financial plan that includes insurance check-up, investing check up, estate planning suggestions (not the actual documents). Is this realistic. It seems high. I have zero debt and 340,000 in cash to invest.
