YES! Open an ING Direct Savings (Money Market) account. I've been a member since 2001 and they have consistently had higher then average interest rates on savings product, excellent service, high security, FDIC insured, and the money is easy to transfer TO/FROM your checking account. I've not paid any fees and it's nice since there are no minimum balance requirements.
Look for their ad in most financial magazines and you'll get a promo code that gives you an extra $25 for opening the account.
I have one. It was my first online account and is very accessible. I don't withdraw money. Ever so often they have a new promotion so it's a good idea to have an account with them. Their service is great and fast. I wouldn't necessarily keep larger amounts of money there, but I do put my $20 challenge money there and in Emigrant direct which pays 5.05.
I don't have one. I don't see the point since there are numerous banks and money market funds paying higher interest and I keep my cash in one of them. My mom has one, but earlier this year, we transferred almost all of the money into a higher yielding account at Countrywide Savings.

I have one. I don't have any complaints about their customer service, but I transfered all but about $50 out of it because their interest rates aren't competitive. I have since opened an IGOBanking account and am getting 5.30%
I believe the reason most people sign on to ING is that by depositing $250. for only 20 days, you are given $25.00. That's 10% on your money. They also give you 25 invites that you can earn $10. each time you get someone to sign up. That's free money in my book. Even, if you took the $250. out and left your $25. and continued to get $10 for each person who signed up, you're still way ahead. That's what I call making money out of thin air literally.
Like others said also, ING does have a great reputation.
I love ING. Yes I could get more interest other place, but I like the interface and ease of us and customer service. I also like they I can have both a checking and savings through them.

Me too. I opened a couple other online savings accounts to chase higher rates, but their interfaces bugged me and I decided to stick with ING. My favorite thing is that you can easily have multiple accounts to help you save for different purposes. I have a travel account, an account where I stash freelance income, an account where I save for my self-employed taxes, plus the usual emergency fund account. My goal is to open up an account to save for a new-to-me car next year, and possibly also an account to save for Xmas shopping.
I just opened my ING Orange Savings. 25 bucks for bonus seemed like a good deal. I hope they nudge the rates a bit to keep up with the other banks. Interface is awesome on the site...so easy to use.
My DH and I just opened our Electric Orange Checking Account. We got a $25 bonus link from one of my coworkers. I'm really excited to be earning interest on our checking account again!
