    Re: eloan screwup

I haven't yet had any problems with E-Loan. I'll be scheduling a transfer today or tomorrow. We'll see what happens. Sounds like something was lost in the English to Hindi translation of their software development phase. Maybe new deposits will slow to a trickle, people will begin withdrawing funds and closing accounts etc., to the point they are compelled to raise their rate.

Talked to them on the phone today. They said they will fix everything. So I'll wait and see. They told me not to do an scheduled transfers until Monday since they have had a bunch of accounts that have had problems. As long as they have things fixed, I will stick with them as long as their rates are high, but only place smaller denominations of money until things appear stable. I'll let everyone know what happens. They said they will refund me the overdraft also over the phone, so I'll see on that also. As I've said, I never had problems with HSBC or emigrant who I think are pretty good, just wished they had a higher rate. I think these online banks are good for emergency funds for which I am using them for.

I scheduled a transfer a little while ago. I'm not feeling warm & fuzzy considering they told you to wait until Monday. Someone needs to have a sit down with Elvis in Bangalore.

I have not had any problems with my eloan account-but I have not done anything with it except put my initial deposit in. I did check my account and received the interest for the month(it has only been open for one month), and I was pleased to see a decent return on my money, as compared to my checking account. The money in this account serves mostly as an emergency fund-I am hoping to just let it sit there and grow.

Please keep us updated as to any issues that come up with eloan.

          Thanks

wow, I was also thinking about doing an eloan account, but I agree with Kimiko, I don't want to have to cover those kinds of losses if mistakes get made!

              Re: eloan screwup

So anyway, now my eloan account has the correct amount now. So I am just waiting to get my $19 for the overdraft when they took too much money out of my BOA account. I was told by Monday I should be given that back. Hopefully no surprises tomorrow when I check again. I think I will stick to deposits to emigrant and HSBC until I hear from all of you that eloan is fixed. Since I now have a little over 5 grand in eloan, I'll keep it there to keep the account open to get the interest and I'll wait and see how they pan out. They were actually friendly on the phone and did apoligize to me. I did hear that emigrant actually had some issues when they changed the website, but at that time I did not make deposits so I didn't have trouble with them at that time.

My latest transfer has worked just like my prior transfers. We'll see what happens when my checking account is debited. So far, so good.

My latest transfer appears to have processed normally.
