Curious as to how many of you last week has eloan screw up your transaction. I made a deposit into eloan for 15,000[my six month emergency fund] from my bank account. What they did was they instead put 15,000 two times into eloan thus making my primary bank negative and costing me a 19 dollar fee. I called them and they said they would rectify the problem. What they did was not only return 15,000 back into my bank account but they never paid back the 19 dollar fee they promised. But, they also put an extra 15,000 into my bank account. So my eloan amount of 15,000 is correct but now I have an extra 15,000 in my bank account but they never refunded me the 19 dollars. I am afraid if I call them again they are going to screw this up even more. I am kind of sorry I darted from emigrant, but that 5.5% made it worth it after 1 month. What do you all think?

Re: eloan screwup
Honestly my excitement toward ELOAN has died down quite a bit. These 'glitches' are starting to concern me a little. And one of my long-time favorites, GMAC, has closed the gap quite a bit now that it's sitting at 5.3%. ELOAN's on shaky ground with me.

Re: eloan screwup
I've had a GMAC Money Market Account for over a year and I am extremely happy with the rates and the service. The transfers in and out of my checking account are very fast (2 days). I also like the ATM card and checkwriting feature, which is free. They even reimburse other banks' ATM fees up to $6 a month.

I don't know how ELOAN will pan out over the long-term. For the sake of those of you with accounts there, I hope all goes well.
Problems and concerns with accounts like these certainly does make GMAC's new rate look more attractive. As an observer of these types of the accounts, I personally like the overall offerings from GMAC, Amboy Direct, and even Emigrant. The first is offering (at the time of this post) 5.30%, the second 5.25% (with no minimum balance requirement) and the last, though lagging with a 5.05% APY, does have an effective and efficient web site and a history of offering a consistently high rate.

Re: eloan screwup
I still have not received my 19 overdraft from eloan. Ultimately today, I noticed they took out the extra money that was in my bank account by taking it from my eloan account. I am tired of this bank and will just use emigrant and hsbc which I still have accounts with unless anyone recommends anyone better.

Re: eloan screwup
I think you are right. Yesterday, I had about 20k in eloan and they put 15,000 in my regular bank account for no reason. I decided not to question them and put that money in emigrant. Today, they took 15,000 out of my eloan to make my eloan account negative 10,000 and I have no idea where that money went. I am getting tired of these people and probably recommend to avoid them with all cost. Is anyone else having these kind of issues. I thought they can't transfer funds unless you authorize them?
