Jimohio isn't active much anymore. He pops in every now and again but I miss his insight.

JimOhio if indeed a missed influence on the boards... I believe he started a RIA a few years ago, and to prevent any perception of professional malfeasance, he stopped actively participating here.

Another old head is Poundwise, who I haven't seen around here for 3 or 4 years.

He pushed the envelope...thats for sure. They typically just lock his threads.

He pushes his agenda of real estate...and he constantly reminds everyone why he doesnt understand why people want their money tied up in 401k accounts where you cant access it until a specified year...while the majority of users over there have 401k accounts.

Hey I think you have 97 confused with me.

Actually I'm not opposed to 401Ks per se, I just think there are better deals to be had. But a lot of that depends on what the match is, how big the menu of investment options, the risk tolerance, and the long term goals.

I will be advising my kids to invest in 401Ks enough to at least get the match, especially in their 20s.

I just noticed that if you go up to the Community tab and hit the drop down arrow you will see a member list. If you sort on # of posts you'll see the posters who contributed a lot and maybe refresh your memory on others who aren't around anymore.

Some of us on the blogs wondered that about ImaSaver, but we have figured out she is still living, although there were some health changes from what I remember.
