  • Impacts of Israel will affect everyones finances in one way or another

But the financial losses though pales in comparison to the lives lost or people maimed and those people affected by it but we can expect prices of everything to continue to rise one way or another. Inflation before Israel may have pulled back a little but I predict it will ratchet back up now. Gas in Los Angeles is currently near $6, I expect soon $10. If you thought food prices were high, we haven't seen nothing yet. The stock market may not be reflective yet but I think it's still on a sugar high from all the COVID stimulus money.

This is the farthest thing from my mind as I see the news coming out of Israel and read posts from friends and family affected.

    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?

I've got alot of thoughts about what's going on out there... and most of them very concerning. In the end, I only hope that it calms down quickly without (1) expanding into a larger regional conflict; (2) breaking down unity among international partners/allies; and (3) creating significantly more loss of life.

As with DS, I'm least concerned about the financial ramifications of all this.

In times like this, it becomes apparent just how lucky we are, and how well off we are compared to other parts of the world. The news regarding the destruction and loss of life is devastating.

The political commentary is nauseating, and I've noticed extremely heavy bot/troll activity on social media regarding the conflict. People are dying, and the first inclination is to add spin to support agenda. Gross.

        History will judge the complicit.

i struggled with this also...Defense stocks were up a little bit, but I'm with Disneysteve on this one. The attack was just so brutal and over the top its taking time to process it.

I suspect the IDF is going to mop the floor with Hamas, I don't think it is going to be a drawn out fight. That said I don't think the status quo is going to change. I am doubtful any of us will notice a difference at the store or at the pump.

Totally - I think Hamas may have gone too far this time. I suspect the IDF will raze Gaza entirely.
