    I'm disputing a $50 T-mobile charge to my BOA credit card (I already tried T-mobiel and they won't refund the charge) which made me think of a $35 charge to the same BOA credit card which I disputed 1 year ago and lost where Hotels dot com would not refund as well when I tried Hotels dot com first before going to BOA. I had made a reservation for Hotel Diaz in Tijuana. When I showed up to check in Hotel Diaz said they didn't take reservations (later I found out this to be true from about 10 reviews on Hotels dot com where others experienced the same). At the time I figured it was a slight inconvenience and would get refunded so I found another hotel in Tijiuana for the night. When I returned to USA, I contacted Hotels dot com but they refused to provide a refund. So, I figured okay BOA will refund but nope BOA also refused to refund. By that time there were 10 reviews, including mine's where people were complaining that Hotel Diaz would not honor the reservations. And Hotels dot com kept Hotel Diaz on the website for a few weeks before taking it down. Long story short I never got refunded the $35 for Hotel Diaz so I'm not holding my breath that BOA will refund the $50 T-mobile charge. I guess if I lose this dispute as well I will use either a Capital One credit card or Citibank credit card from now and put the BOA credit in storage.

    I got lucky and won the dispute. The Hotels.com dispute was supposed to be a slam dunk as well but I guess it depends on the person authorizing the refund.

      Was I at fault with the T-Mobile dispute or was right? I'll explain in detail how it all went down. The T-Mobile billing cycle date was the 7th of the month so August 7th would start a new billing cycle. I transferred my phone number to Mint mobile on 7/31/23 a good 7 days before that date. Also before I did the transfer I tried to delete my credit card from T-Mobile's automatic payment system but it wouldn't let me unless I added a new credit card to replace it. And it's not like I transferred my number let's say 1 day before August 7. And the transfer was instantaneous and I could no longer log into my T-Mobile account on 7/31/23 when I did the transfer although before the transfer Mint mobile's website said it could take 24 to 48 hours. Then when August 7th arrived T-Mobile automatically charged the $50 for the next cycle for August 7th thru September 6. Before I contacted T-Moble and asked to reverse the charge on August 8th I thought they'd reverse it but they couldn't. My only other option that I could think of was to asked T-Mobile to delete my credit card from my T-Mobile account which the representative said she deleted it but who knows when September 7th comes around I hope another $50 charge doesn't show up in my inbox. And I think what helped me in my favor was that I used the same BOA credit card for the Mint mobile account. Anyway keeping my fingers crossed that no more $50 charges comes on September 7.

        People point at me and laugh when I say I pay my bills by check.

        I would say you're not responsible for the charges, but a lot of your headache could have been prevented had you contacted T-Mobile directly when you chose to switch services, especially when you saw you could not delete your card or later when you couldn't log into the account.

        It is also my opinion you are owed some percentage of your 7/7 payment to account for the period of 8/1 to 8/7 when you were no longer a customer.

          I never even thought about getting reimbursed for that 1 week period from 7/31/23 to 8/7/23, interesting you're right car insurance premiums are reimbursed for cancellations for unused periods of time.

            I'm glad you got your money back, but I do think you handled this incorrectly. Just dropping T-mobile service wouldn't automatically stop the auto-billing service. You should have called and cancelled that at the time that you switched service providers since you weren't able to do it online.

              you needed to stop auto pay first before you transferred your number. Then get CC off account then move number. But you aren't wrong and now you can call T - mobile customer service. I've found them to be nice. I also found them to be cheap for our plan, but our plan is so old that like our spotify plan it's grandfathered in

                LAL nailed it, that's what I should have done, was to deactivate autopay. I tried to delete my credit card but no can do. Had to add another credit card to replace the original credit card so I left my credit card information and when Aug 7 hit it charge my credit card $50 because it was still on autopay. As for giving T-Mobile notification prior to transferring my phone number that would not have done anything. I've transferred my number numerous times (ie, Virgin Mobile, Boost, Mint, Cricket, T-Mobile, and back to Mint) all in that order since maybe 2002 when I moved from Hawaii to Los Angeles. All the websites make it perfectly clear to keep the old account active before transferring the number because once you press "send" it is instantaneous but could take 24 to 48 hours.

                  Before you start the process of switching cell phone carriers, do not cancel your service with your current carrier before contacting your new service provider. You won’t be able to port your phone number if it has already been deactivated.

                    The nightmare continues with T-Mobile. Their service might be great as some here atest to but watch out when cancelling. I'm now in collections w/T-Mobile. I got computer generated call from T-Mobile just now saying my acct is in arears and I owe $65 or they'll send it to collections and my credit will be downgraded. It was a computer generated so I didn't trust who I was talking to. So I later called the number from T-Mobile's website and the new rep said the same thing. I didn't pay it yet and will have to pay it later to avoid the downgraded credit rating. My lesson I learned it to stick with the carriers that don't do credit checks (ie, Cricket, Mint, Boost, etc). The big guys such as Verizon, AT & T, T-Mobile will dowgrade credit ratings.

                        They said my billing cycle was from July 17 to Aug 16, and this is where I'm confused. I cancelled on July 31. Wouldn't my service be good until Aug 15. The date T-Mobile actually billed me was on the 7th of every month. Maybe the $65 in arrears was to cover me thru Aug 16?

                          Bills are typically for the previous month so if you cancelled your last payment you probably do owe them money.

                            We have AT&T. I just looked at my most recent bill. Billing date was July 19. That covered service from June 20 to July 19. AutoPay happened on July 27. By the time that payment happened, I already owed 7 days into the new billing cycle. And if for some reason I didn't make/cancelled the July 27 payment, I'd owe for everything back to June 20.
