I'll run it but on a 11 year old car it's not going to be necessarily accurate.

There is no designation for "club cab". Only "quad cab" and "extended cab."

If it's a "quad cab", dealers are paying on average of $5700 for that car with those miles.

If it's an "extended cab", the number is about $3400.

I see thanks, it's quad cab. Very informative.

Edited: It's actually extended cab, $3400 is still good though.

You could private sale it for $6-ish pretty easy.

The thing is that I live in an apartment with no extra space to park it so I may just sell it fast to a used car dealer, I know they may only offer me half or maybe even 1/3 of the $3400 but I'll be keep it for another couple of years.

Kelly Blue shows that it's worth about $6000 as well but I'm guessing that's excellent condition and I'm guessing private sale.

great 2016 Honda Odyessey 10k miles excellent condition trim level touring

TH if you were to buy a minivan how old and which one would you look at? Where is the sweet spot of a used car? 1, 2 , 3, 5 years old? Is a year enough depreciation?

Why do dealerships list a 2017 car with 500 miles as used? When it said sold then listed again?

Very generally speaking, cars are worth half or less what they were "new" after 48 months. So after four years, the worst is behind you regardless of make and model. If I was concerned about depreciation, I would buy a gently used 4-year old car. It could lose half again it's value over the next 4 years, but that's substantially less money.

Example: Brand X costs you $30,000 new. In 4 years, it's worth $15K. But in year 8, it's worth $7500. So the second 4 years, it's pretty cheap driving.

There are many makes/models that can do substantially better than that, but most are trucks or SUVs. A Toyota pickup is the strongest resale vehicle that there is, especially once you reach 10 years old - you can drive them with very little if any depreciation.

There are also many makes/models that will fare much worse: Mitsubishi, Chrysler, Dodge, Hyundai, Kia, Suzuki are simply awful. The product is inferior and the depreciation is horrendous. Ford is a decent product but depreciation is sketchy.

As for a dealership listing a car as "new" or "used", that is a state-specific issue. In Texas, once a vehicle has been titled to someone, it is considered "used" even if it only has 10 miles on it.

If a car was "sold" and relisted, a customer likely said they wanted it, and out of courtesy the dealer removed it from inventory. Then the customer changed their mind/didn't show up. You hear stories all the time about shady car dealerships; when we had our business, it seemed that we had our share of "shady customers". Customers would lie to you about any and everything. Many would treat you like absolute dirt. That's one of the reasons we shut down the business.

They're probably treating car salesmen like they expect car salesmen to be treating them.

Naturally, though, you ran an honest dealership...

I actually found the car business to be one of the more honest industries I had participated in. The healthcare industry makes the car business look like a charity.
