Anyone have this coverage or similar coverage. The Chevy dealer on Nov 8 when I bought this new car tried to push their car warranty on me but I learned from the members here not to get it so I declined. Endurance sounds better but I tried to get a quote online but a representative will need to call me back which I hate dealing with people. I rather do everything online. I would venture to guess it's about $250 a month.

Yeah, as a general rule, you don't want to get swept into buying an extended warranty during the sale. There's too much going on already, and most people wrap up the inflated cost in their loan and/or end up paying too much for a warranty because they are led to believe it's only available at the time of purchase.

If you're interested in one, I might suggest working with your dealer on a GMPP/GM Protection Plan, or shopping dealers to see who can provide the best price on one. https://www.gmfinancial.com/en-us/le...rotection.html

There are huge margins in those products. But, since you just bought a new car, it should be covered (everything non-wear related, and even then, some wear-related items are covered for a short time) for 3 years/ 36k miles and 5 years/60k powertrain, and 7 years on most emissions components.
    History will judge the complicit.

Another good call by ua_guy. GM website allows instant online quotes. I selected 96 months (minimum was 12 months), which I'm guessing is the duration of the plan. Also, I selected 100,000 miles (minimum was 10,000 miles), which I'm also guessing is the duration of the plan. Platinum is the highest level.

A little off topic but who here rather deal with people vs online? I'll take online any day over a live person. My mom likes to call to make hotel reservations and I try to get her to do it online but she always reverts to calling. I try to tell her that an agent may make a mistake and book a wrong date, or room, or price, etc. Doing it online only 1 person yourself may make a mistake, not 2 people as yourself and the agent makes it 2x as likely a mistake could occur. Not to mention the attitude you might get with an agent, etc. I look forward to self-driving cars where for instance getting an obnoxious Uber driver asking me all kinds of questions. Taxi drivers were better where they'd just drive and not ask questions but the monopoly they had made fares extremely high. Sorry, rant over (lol).

My mother drives us CRAZY wanting to call someone every time she has a question or an issue. We can't get her to understand that the world no longer works that way. She wants to call Comcast when something isn't working or call her health plan when she doesn't understand her bill or call a store to find out if they have an item in stock or call her brokerage when she has a question about a dividend payment. This also often crosses over into her making calls to scammers or, at the very least, marketers who are trying to sell her something or rip her off (or both). When she sees an ad on TV or in the paper and she wants more info, she wants to call the toll free number and talk to them. Of course, as a result, she has been scammed numerous times, gets a stupid amount of junk mail and spam emails, and has had numerous security breaches on her accounts.

We keep telling her that virtually everything can be handled more efficiently and more securely online and we're happy to do it for her, but she wants to feel independent and do things herself. I understand that but in the process, she's actually screwing herself over more often than not.

I will ALWAYS choose the option that doesn't involve a human whenever possible. Online service. Self-checkout. DIY whatever. I do generally like online live chat customer service better than calling and speaking to someone though. But any time I can handle an issue without involving another person, that's my preference.

Speaking of self-checkout, I really hate how some stores that pushed it a lot have now started backpedaling. Target limits it to 10 items now, which is generally worthless for us. Walmart is also starting to limit it. Wegmans limits it to 20 items, which isn't terrible, but you used to be able to scan the item and immediately bag it in your cart. Nope. Now you have to put the item on the bagging area before you move it to your cart, which makes self-checkout take just as long as using a cashier. Places that are still getting it right are Aldi where I can scan and toss in my bag and BJs where I don't even need to take the stuff out of the cart. I can use the hand scanner to scan everything and be on my way.

This was the only accessory $399 door edge guards that I accepted with my 2024 Chevy Trailblazer. I tried to negotiate it away but since it was already installed they would not budge.

This is misleading. Only the Clearshield door edge guard was installed. If I had agreed to pay the $30,949 price, then and only then would the dealer install the other equipment such as the $799 catalytic converter etching, etc.

There was an option to buy online my 2024 Trailblazer which I was tempted to try but old habits are hard to break so I went in-person. Anyone tried the buy online version?

It's the best way to go. Working with the online sales guy, you have more of an upper-hand because you have better access to more information/comps, other dealers, independent financing, far lower pressure-based tactics, everything gets slowed down with the back & forth of emails (so you're less likely to make rash decisions), and if you don't like the deal you're getting, you can just ghost the dealer & be done with them.

It's really the only way I'm willing to buy from a dealer -- arrange the deal in advance, them I show up to sign the paperwork & get the keys. If they try to renege or change the deal (which you conveniently have in writing via email), you walk. I've bought a few cars that way.

We bought all 3 of our current cars online. Two from CarMax and one from Carvana.
