I just discovered Paypal rewards where they give % cash back from a variety of retailers such as Office Depot 5%, Staples 4%, Dell 4%, Priceline 3%, UberEats 5%, Boost Mobile 3%, Booking 5%, etc. I haven't tried it yet but might try the Dell 4% on a new laptop using my funds from Decluttr of $386 from the Samsung phone. I think the 4% would be credited back into my Paypal account which is better than nothing for using Paypal. In your Paypal account click on deals to see all the retailers and their % cash back. This is just a small sample of it.

Paypal rewards does anyone know about it?

This is the first time I've heard of it. But I rarely use PayPal, and most of the offers on there are not for companies we frequent... So unless I happened to need something from one of those companies, *AND* I happened to remember Paypal offers deals on it .... Then no way I'm using it. It's just not convenient or a consideration for me.

I might use PayPal once per year. Did not know they had a rewards program and it doesn't look like something that would be beneficial to me.
QMM, you might also check to see if your employer offers a discount purchase program on Dell and Microsoft products if you're looking for a new laptop...could net you more than the 4% PayPal is advertising.History will judge the complicit.

Amazon nope, eBay nope, but I saw Walmart 1%. As for the Dell my employer doesn't offer a discount purchase program for Dell but my employer does offer a $14.99 Microsoft Office Professional Suite (ie, word, excel, powerpoint, etc). I went ahead and bought a cheap $279 Dell 15" non-touch screen core i3 11th gen, 8 gb RAM, 125 SSD using the link from Paypal in order to get the 4% cash back. Later I'll max out the RAM to 16 or 32 gb or whatever it supports and maybe a 512 or 1 terabyte storage. Free 2 day delivery this Friday.

If I had a choice, I'd choose an Apple. I just picked up a new M1-Pro, 13" Macbook for home and the performance is stunning. The most shocking thing is it doesn't get warm and the fan doesn't run, even when being pushed. I've gotten more than 16 hours out of the battery on one charge.History will judge the complicit.

I am interested in mining cryto, but I am currently not interested in sinking money into building a rig. Past watching YouTube videos, I know nothing so I probably shouldn't comment.... But my understanding is if you're serious about it you need a lot of GPU horsepower. It's not that you can't mine on a laptop, but I don't know how efficient it would be. The videos of mining rigs I've seen have anywhere from 1 to 20 or so GPUs. The higher end the GPU the more productive it's going to be. Nvidia had implemented changes to some of their gaming GPUs that slowed them down for mining. New stuff comes out everyday.
On the subject of cryto, is it worth having a section of the forum devoted to it? I don't see me having much in the way of cryto questions, but I see it pop up a lot here and there. The site is Saving Advice, not Cryto Advice after all lol.

Yes double cash back. I use a BofA credit card linked to Paypal. The BofA credit card pays 2% cash back for online purchases so I use it for Amazon & eBay as well or any other online purchases for that matter. BofA doesn't know or doesn't care that 4% cash back for this Dell purchase is being added to my Paypal account, at least that's just my 2 cents.
