  • Song writer success !!!!

So I am a songwriter type and last year I wrote quite a few songs to see if I could get one published.

Well, the one I submitted ended up being a hit with the song submission service, as they offered to help me get it recorded. I paid them a front fee of $2,700 for some of their marketing and packaging fees. It worked, as they have now identified four artists that are interested in the songs.

Now though the money is getting a little bigger - I sent them $7500 to take things to the next step. After a contract has been signed we will begin recording. I think I could end up making a fortune on this deal.

Here is one verse of the song

Oh babe what am I gonna do
It's been so long since I saw you

Things change and so did I, but I never thought you'd really say goodbye.

Now that I'm back in Wilkes Barre,
I'm gonna sing this song to you my babe.

Ohhh babe, Ohhhh babe, Ohhh babe, wish you was with me in Wilkes Barre.

Ohhhh babe, Ohhh babe, when you gonna come back to Wilkes Barre.

If you need a loan to pay for the $7,500, there is an article on the SA home page about how you can obtain a loan to pay for any of life's necessities ... you know, essentials like weddings and vacations and song submission services. And it covers all of the really important points such as how the application process works. No need to waste your time figuring out ridiculous stuff like calculating interest costs.
Good luck with the new career.

      Here's my second verse:

I knew I was wrong when I said you was right,
I'm just not a man to pick a fight,

When we was together just you 'n me, we'd play like children in the hay,

But now it's all gone cause you left me for Clay,
And here I am crying back in Wilkes Barre.

Ohhh babe, Ohhhh babe, Ohhh babe, wish you was with me in Wilkes Barre.

Ohhhh babe, Ohhh babe, when you gonna come back to Wilkes Barre.

          SCFR,

Good catch on that - we actually didn't have the interest cost information when the article was being drafted. That article is scheduled for revision pending a response by the loan company.

Sounds more like hip-hop/rap to me? Either way, good for you!

Sorry, but this has disaster written all over it. These song writing contract deals/scams have been around since Sea Monkey's were sold on the back cover of Boy's Life.

I hope this is a joke, because I don't want to end up reading about this again in the 'I got scammed thread'.

10,000 is an extraordinary amount to front. I hope you get a return on your investment, but I hope you don't give these people any more money.

While I haven't worked specifically in song publishing, in the highly competitive creative field I did work in, a cardinal 'spot the scam' rule is always that if people believe in your idea/work they pay you, you don't pay them. But the 'just pay us x amount and we will make you rich & famous' deals were always the ones inexperienced talent flock to because they made it sound so easy.

The true long slog of actually making it based on talent should not cost you until you make it (all involved took a percentage of profit, not an upfront fee), but was not as immediately satisfying. It often took years.

I just forwarded another payment of $3000. Looks like we are really close to banking some here!

Curious question. By your name I thought you would be in Texas so why are you writing a song about a town in PA? Although Vermont also has a town by that name. I was wondering how you promounce the name of the town as even locals can't agree on it (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk%3...C_Pennsylvania) .

I grew up in SanBernardino, CA and at one point an English group made a song about the city they had never been to.

                              Like I sid, just curious.

Also curious if you are for real about this song and the money you are paying out or is this some type of an April Fools style joke?
