Photography has been a hobby of mine since I was in high school. I contemplated making a business out of it for a while but now I just do it for the enjoyment of it.

Surprising no one said drones. I see rdevansii flies airplanes which must be cool as well.

I've never used one and I don't think I know anyone who has either.

What exactly do you do with them?

You can wear goggles that have a screen/display...its the point of view of the drone.

Cool video. Drones can be an expensive hobby say $1500 - $5000 for a top of the line model. Not to mention getting FAA licensing, privacy issues, legalities of flying areas, etc.

So you have your multi-hundred dollar drone and you're flying it around some deserted site like that. What happens if you accidentally bang into a doorway and the thing crashes? Or the battery dies? Or something interferes with the signal and you lose contact? If you're using it somewhere public, you just go over and get it, but the site in that video didn't look like it was accessible.

In great thanks to my 1st grade teacher and mother who could see I was scanning pages in a book wrong and got me on the right track for reading (I have a form of dyslexia and I'm not sure if the word had been invented back when I was in first grade). My hobby is reading, reading and reading some more. I think I passed over 30K book read years ago. I also like to sew, quilt and embroider and I love reading bout those activites almost more than I like doing them. I also loved to bake and would take over mom's kitchen most Saturday's from junior high on to back bread, rolls, cakes, cookies, etc. Yet again, I also love reading cookbooks (which give you a great history lesson if you keep your eyes open) especially now when doing anything physical like kneading dough is too much for me.

These three have been lifelong hobies for me as I started sewing many of my own clothes from junior high on. and when I get inspired still do so. I would have gone nuts with this arthritis if I didn't enjoy reading as a way to take my mind away from what is going on in my body.

The nice thing about my hobbies, is they are now my work, and much of what I do hobby wise is tax deductible at this point. The fact I read a lot helps me stay current for customers questions. Although no amount of reading helps me answer questions like does this pattern have long seams? How long is long and why does it matter unless you are hand sewing?

All of the parts on those things can be replaced. Thats how all radio controlled things are. I have an rc car...ive broken parts on it before. You buy those replacement parts and fix it...or you buy upgraded parts and swap out the old ones (part of the hobby.)

Not sure about the site in the video...the person flying it was a pro so they know what they're doing. People use drones for aerial footage...lots of cool HD footage of national parks that used to only be filmed using a helicopter. Now pretty much any view from the sky looking down is from a drone (so much cheaper.)

I dont own a drone but thought about buying one years ago...then realized I have enough hobbies that keep me busy.

Family Hobbies which take a lot of my time:
                    1. RV'ing with and without ATV/UTV/dirt bike riding
                    2. Competitive robotics, baseball, cheerleading, swimming (4 kids)

                    My Hobbies:
                    1. sports cars - currently not doing much other than driving a car that most on here would likely find ridiculous. (modified wheels/tires, suspension, brakes, intake, exhaust, custome tune, larger fuel pump, etc. It goes, stops, and turns pretty well.
                    2. When I was in my 30's I was into seeing how fast a lap I could get with timing equipment on a road course racetracks. Kids really got me away from this, but a bucket list item of mine is to turn a few quick laps on some of the most famous road courses in the US.
                    3. I am on the board for a food pantry and volunteer my time with involvement from my teenage son.
