  • Do you look at the pennies you receive?

I do but not religiously. Sure would be nice to find one worth $85k

    Wouldn't that be exciting!

I rarely have any pennies since I pay with debit or credit. But a few years ago I set aside a box for copper pennies. Haven't added to it in perhaps 3, 4 years.

For some reason I still check, to keep the wheat pennies I come across. But I really don't have much for change, and usually throw in the car ash tray.
"I'd buy that for a dollar!"

Well, I had a bunch of things to do today, but now I'm going to tear through my husband's penny collection. He has been collecting them since he was a kid. It will take a while.

Used to ignore them, but since having daughter, we started stashing away the coins and small banknotes. Weird enough, we got quite some savings and she's able to use the money to buy stuff she likes.

I not only look at my change, but I look through the change at checkout counters 'leave a penny, need a penny' jars. If I find something I want, I just swap the coin with one mine that I don't want. I still find wheat pennies and not too long ago found a 1911 mercury dime.

I don't always get looks from people, but i don't mind if it means I might run into that 83k penny.

I have never checked the penny jars at stores, but I pick up every penny I find on the ground or floor.
