I already have 2 checking accounts and don't really need a third account but for $350 I plan to open an account with HSBC.

Just opened an account with chase today and am getting a $200 bonus, just have to set up direct deposit, anyone can get the chase coupon online

Good deal 97guns. I researched the HSBC terms for the $350 and it appears that a $10,000 balance needs to be maintained or $5000 balance with direct deposit. Exactly what I wanted. I didn't want to do a direct deposit since my other bank is my main checking account. These are the terms for the HSBC Advance checking account.

Thanks for motivating me to go 97guns. I just returned from opening my account. One other thing I found out is that the account must stay open for at least 180 days (6 months) to avoid a $25 early closing fee. No problem but after 6 months I intend to close it. Deposited $12,000. Everyone in the lobby had the same mailer in their hand. These people were more than just the average Joe.

I've got several accounts that I don't use at chase with small balances like $20 or $50.... from getting bonuses through them, I've got all my accounts linked together to qualify for no fees across the board

Thank you. I just checked and I am on the wrong side of the country at this point even though I grew up in S. Cal.

I started doing youth sports photography a few years ago as a hobby. I was really good with Photoshop and minored in art, so I was always had an eye for it. I started doing composite images where we green-screen the kids and then put them on backgrounds. It has blown up over the last few years and we do a bunch of high school posters with their schedules for sports teams you may see around town and senior banners, as well as we started getting large youth leagues with 200-500 kids at a time. Because of a job layoff, my hobby has become my full-time job. It absolutely exploded this year. I would have had to make a decision to scale back or quit, so the job loss timing couldn't have been better.
