I've heard some versions of TurboTax let you submit up to 5 free returns. One thing you can do is get with a friend who has this version and use his or her software for free.james.c.hendrickson@gmail.com

Pennsylvania has had padirectfile via the revenue website for many years. Yes, you have to input your information (again), but it is free and does all of the calculations for you. If you owe, you can set up a withdrawal from your checking/savings at no cost. I do believe they charge a fee if you want to use a credit card.
