I'm not sure why you dredged up a 4-year-old thread about hotels to ask a question about gift cards but here we are.Originally posted by QuarterMillionMan View PostA) I just redeemed $127 Citibank 12,723 points to apply towards my credit balance. B) Another option was to redeem for gift cards $100 for 10,000 points (ie, Starbucks or Dominos Pizza). C) In addition, there is a sale on certain gift cards such as $100 for 9000 points for these all in one gift card with these exact restaurants Subway, Panda, Taco bell, Krispy Kreme, & Panera bread. Curious what the crowd here would redeem their points for A, B, or C? To me the $10 discount for C was not worth it due to the fact that I would be forcing myself to eat at Subway, Panda, Taco Bell, Krisy Kreme or Panera bread.
Personally I would take the statement credit. Cash is cash.
A gift card would be fine if there is one for a place that you go to regularly and know you will use. Especially a place like Starbucks where you just load it into the app and you pay with your phone. That way you don't have to remember you have the card or carry it with you all the time.Steve

I'm not a Starbucks fan either as I don't drink coffee, though I do love their iced lemon pound cake. But yes, you can put a gift card on your account and use the app to pay. Quite a few places let you do that. Here in NJ, I always use the Wawa app to pay for orders there and just reload money onto my gift card whenever I'm running low.Originally posted by QuarterMillionMan View PostBeing that I'm old school, I didn't know the Starbucks app can load gift cards so no need to carry the gift card. I'm not a Starbucks fan, but good to know.Steve
