    Black Friday-ish Shopping

This morning I ordered the Level 2 EV charger for the house we are having built. The price today is $80 less than it was yesterday due to a Black Friday-ish promo. Hooray!

Because we will have 100% hard flooring, I'm going to buy a new mop to replace the terrible old one we have. I don't know if I'll find a Black Friday deal or not, but I will shop around online to see what's out there. (Edit / Update - I've selected my mop, no Black Friday promo).

Earlier in the month I bought a pair of sweat pants for DH and a pair of fleece pajama bottoms for me (both early Black Friday promos).

If Target offers the 10% GC deal this year, and if I don't miss it because it happens in the middle of moving, I will buy the maximum amount allowed.
I'm also a going to check the Ikea site on Monday to see if a couple items I want for the new house are on sale (not holding out much hope that they will be though).
And I'm going to check for a gift card promotion related to a trip scheduled summer of 2022. (Edit / Update - There is a Black Friday gift card promotion but it's for more than we'll need so I'm passing.)

That's it for my Black Friday-ish shopping. More than usual for me, but also less than I'd thought I'd be doing back in the spring when I started my list. I don't live under a rock - I'm aware of the supply chain issues - so the lack of deals on things we want/need for the house are not a surprise.

    Anyone else doing any shopping?

We went to Walmart this afternoon because we needed a few things. Not Black Friday shopping. Just everyday household stuff. No sales as far as I know.

We also went to Produce Junction to get lemons so we can make a batch of limoncello for some holiday gifts. Picked up some other produce while we were there. Again, not due to Black Friday. Just normal shopping.

Zero black Friday shopping, and none planned. We've got the kids burning off energy at an indoor playground while I work on writing my thesis. Dinner out & a movie planned for tonight.

I truly HATE the massive marketing & consumerism bonanza that the next month will be.

I try to avoid going out much Wednesday-Sunday on Thanksgiving week. It's just too crazy. Too many people trying to travel, too many people out shopping. I don't need to be out there this year.

That said, I haven't done any online shopping, either. The few gifts I need to buy aren't going to be made any cheaper with a black Friday deal anyhow.

We've always found that the craziness of Black Friday is done by noon. We often end up going out in the afternoon for one reason or another, unrelated to Black Friday, and find that the stores are quite calm. That was definitely the case at Walmart today. It's much crazier on a typical weekend day.

I partook in a little Black Friday shopping.

Every year my favorite candles go on 30% discount. They very rarely go on sale so I stock up and buy about 10 candles during their Black Friday sale. It’s a splurge but it makes very happy and my house always smells amazing.

I also needed some new winter clothes. My wardrobe was not prepared for East Coast winters last year and this year, I’m not making that mistake again! New York is a lot colder than San Diego. There’s an online thrift shop that I like and they were having sale today so I took advantage of that and ordered a few things.

All done from the comfort of my couch!

My wife has been watching a couple of websites for items she uses. They didn't have any great sales today so she's hoping they do something for Cyber Monday. It's stuff that she will buy eventually anyway but if she can get 20 or 30% off, she'll grab it.

                Nothing from me
I was at my cabin in the mountains on Black Friday

I did do a little online Xmas shopping last night, but that's it so far
