I've also noticed that the pricing tends to be dependent on the economy. During the last market crash and the years afterwards, the prices of exotics tanked big time. Then afterwards (like now), the prices are on a strong upward trend. It seems like similarly to investing/buying in the stock market, buying when the financial world is going to **** is the best time to buy.
People tend to think you are completely missing out if you aren't invested in a stock bull market. But as you point out, a bull stock market "lifts all boats", in that real estate, collector cars, and a variety of other assets can rise in tandem with the bull, with some rising significantly more, in terms of percentage.

Fancy cars are my biggest vice for sure... never liked the GTR though. It just doesnt look like a $100k car to me. But who cares, if you like it thats all that matters.
The used car market takes one hell of a toll on cars like this though... its insane what you can get into these days for relatively little cash. Buying new is for suckers IMO. Especially true for cars in this price range where people buy em, and they sit in a garage for a few years, then turn around and sell them for half the price, still like new.

        I really want the 86k, 640hp Cadillac CTS-V, essentially a luxury corvette.

This is more my style... absolutely. The Cadillac coupes are some of the best looking cars on the road IMO.

(I was actually talking about just renting for a weekend instead of buying, to enjoy the thrill without any of the headaches the come with ownership.)

It's good to dream! When we were paying down our mortgage I used to dream about buying a bottle of Dom Perignon to celebrate when we reached the goal, and when I passed a bottle while shopping at Costco I'd look at it and enjoy my daydream. It was a little inspiration to keep working towards the goal.

As you can probably guess, when the time actually came and the final mortgage payment was sent off, I grabbed a bottle of "2-Buck-Chuck," poured a glass for DH & I, and we toasted and sat for a couple minutes just savoring the moment. That was so much better.

my brother has the wagon version of this. lol

it's not that fast given how much horsepower it has because the thing is so damn heavy. If it was awd like the gtr, might be a different story. Of course, that would add even more weight to the car.

I would rather customize a crv than buy that expensive porsche. But as a car enthusiast, I can say that if it's limited edition and unique, it's probably worth its price. but only rich people would be able to afford those!!!
