June 2016 I had to have a major car repair, a family friend offered to help me and charge the repair and me repay 100 per month. Two days after the charge he changed his mind, said he could not afford it, I asked for the card again to get a refund he said nevermind, don't worry about it. In July the dealership contacted me asking why a fraud investigation was being persued, I contacted family friend and asked why he was doing so, he then contacted his credit card and told them to let
the charge go through. I continue to pay him, now he says he wants 100 per week or he will have the charge reversed again..can he do this? Wouldn't he look fraudulent?

Another predicament for a good lawyer. Sounds like an upright, moral citizen.

What he's threatening is not moral at all how can he reverse the charge, then let it go through , then 6 months later threatened to reverse it again

I hope you're getting signed receipts for all the $100 payments. This friend sounds like a scumbag.

There's been an increasing amount of that lately.

The guy who's threatening to "reverse the charge" might be "blowing smoke" as leverage to extract more money from OP, and OP just doesn't realize it.

I'm not an attorney and you should consult one. However, in the meantime I would suggest that you review federal regulation E.

You must dispute a credit card charge within 60 days of the statement date. It's way too late now.

That's what I was thinking. The sleazy guy OP is referring to as a "friend" (doesn't fit my definition by a mile) can't reverse the charge from something he did in June at this point.

Keep paying him $100/month as agreed to initially. How much did you borrow from him?

Hopefully, you will take this as a life lesson - don't borrow money from friends and family.

If you do (I have), get it in writing.
