Just curious if anyone here participates in the Coke rewards program?

If so, how do you spend your points?

When I first signed up for the program, I wasn't even a consumer of any of their products. A family member asked me if I wanted his codes, so I decided to sign up. I drink Diet Coke now, but probably 75% of the codes I enter are from family.

I typically enter codes (from work) throughout the year and cash them in around Christmas time for gift cards. If they had a big ticket item to shoot for, I would possibly consider it. However, I already have more points than the highest reward.

I currently have enough points for $60 worth of Walmart e-giftcards, with the points valued at 1.5 cents each. Certainly not much, but it will pay for a couple of Christmas presents.

I do. I use the points to get coupons for more Coke.

I enter points from our own purchases but I'm always on the lookout for free points when we're out, at parties, etc. Also, our neighbor drinks PowerAde by the boatload and periodically give me a huge bag of caps.

I would say that 80% of the points I enter come from others.

I just don't feel like the coupons are a a good deal for me. I don't like buying the cans and the only coupon for bottles right now is a FREE 20oz and the personalized bottles. I never buy individual bottles because if I am in a store, there is definitely going to be a better deal on either 2 liters or 6 packs. If it is a convenience store, I get a fountain drink.

I have no interested in a personalized bottle.

We only buy cans. Bottles go flat too quickly because we don't drink that much soda. I use the points for the $3 off a 12-pack coupons and then wait for a sale when they are $3 or less so we get it for free.

Sadly I drink way too much of it. I could easily go through a 2 liter or 6 pack in a day. Another reason I don't like the coupons is because it encourages me to buy more when I really need to cut back and drink more water.

Makes sense. At most, I'll drink one can in a day, usually less. A 12-oz can is too much so we have the caps to keep them fresh. Either that or DW and I will split a can if we're having it with a meal.

In your case, it sounds like free Coke would be a bad thing.

I get either the $3 off coupons though not often as it only encourages me to drink it. Otherwise the only thing I like there any more is movie tickets. I am not really a movie goer, but the GF likes to go once in a while, so this works for me in those cases.

And yeah, I look for codes when I am out - probably 75% of my codes are from other people.
Don't torture yourself, thats what I'm here for.

We're going to drink the same amount with or without the coupons so getting the coupons saves us money we're going to spend no matter what.

took advantage of the coke rewards when they first came out. There was no limit to the number of codes entered per day. I got hundreds of caps through my work....some nice merchandise which I either kept or sold on ebay for cash.

Then they changed it to 10 codes per day and really limited how fast the points would add up.

When they changed the limit, we opened a 2nd account in our daughter's name. In fact, I used to have her enter codes for both of us. We've scored a lot of free Coke along the way.

It is even worse now. It is only 75 points per week.

I didn't realize that. I haven't been real active entering codes lately.

Same address? I might consider doing something like that because I am already maxed out for the current week (Monday through Sunday), and I already have enough points for 3 more weeks. My brother goes through at least one Powerade a day and I get a bag full of caps a couple times a month.

Yes. Just different name and email.

Since I constantly have more caps than I am allowed to enter, I created a spreadsheet a couple months ago to enter my codes. It is easy to maintain at work and I just do a copy/paste in to MCR each week.

I didn't think of this right away, but I eventually created columns for the different products I typically enter so I could keep the codes separate. When they announced earlier this month a double points day for Powerade and triple points day for Diet Coke, I was able to maximize the bonus points for those weeks.

150 points the week they had a Powerade bonus and 225 points the week they had the Diet Coke bonus.
