I originally had google fi for 3 years...was paying $27/month for unlimited talk/text and zero data. I figured why get no data for $27/month, when I can go to mint and get 4gb/month for $15/month. Probably should have switched sooner but oh well.

Thanks for the Mint exposure. I might try Mint (T-Mobile) $30 unlimited along with international roaming (extra charges but looks reasonable) to Mexico which is very important for me to have. Currently I have Cricket (AT & T) $60 unlimited. Basically, cutting in half my cell phone service, thanks again for this.

If the mods allow it anyone with a Mint refer a friend code PM me. We both can get $25 credit. I still have to buy the SIM card first and wait until my Cricket month expires on April 7 before I cancel but if allowed it is a win-win for whoever sends me their referral code. If not allowed Mods delete this post.

I received a referral code from someone already.
BTW, Mint encourages posting referrals codes in public such as leaving it in a public bathroom for maximum reach.

In 2021, I had tried using rennigade's $25 friend referral code for Mint (each would get $25 credit) but I messed up (see my message to Mint below after I messed up). I kept Mint for about 1 year then switched to T-mobile where I was able to use Jame's friend referral code to get him a $50 gift card. Fast forward to the present where I'm thinking of switching back to Mint. I still have rennigade's friend referral code which appears to work so I'll try it but not sure we'll get it because I may be considered an existing or prior customer and not necessarily a new sign up. If it works great, if not no biggie.

I also wonder if they throttle your service at a certain point.

As an aside cancelling T-Mobile was not easy and I had to go through 2 agents. The first agent used high pressure tactics to try to keep me to remain with T-Mobile telling me that I needed to purchase another month of service, etc. The second agent was a little less aggressive and in the end gave me the transfer P.I.N. And w/the first agent I think she hung up on me but she called me back. The total time that I spent on the phone with the 2 agents was close to 1 hour. I understand that T-Mobile wants to keep me as a customer but golly. And the agents had some kind of accent maybe from India or Pakistan. T-Mobile cannot afford to pay American workers but I understand it's a business and cutting costs = more profits.

That's unfortunate. I recently transferred from Verizon to Google Fi, and the process was extraordinarily easy. They have a website to get the transfer PIN online (no human interaction required) .... Though for some reason it spit out a 5-digit code for a 6-digit PIN, so I did have to call for a human to generate a new code for me... But zero "why are you leaving Verizon?" shenanigans. My call must have been routed to website tech support & not customer retention.
