For years, I have bought most of my casual and work clothes at the Van Heusen outlet stores. They recently announced that they are closing all stores and moving to online only sales. Our local store is closing in late December, so I headed over there today to stock up on the standard items I buy there, especially pants.
Everything was 80% off, so the pants I usually pay $25-30 for are now $12. The shirts I usually pay $15-20 for are $6 or $8.
The dilemma was twofold. Due to Covid, the dressing rooms are not open (which I totally don't understand but that's beside the point). And because the store is closing, all sales are final.
In addition to the pants I normally buy, there were some other pants I definitely could have used, especially at 80% off, but I wasn't willing to take the chance that I wouldn't like how they fit or felt when I got them home. So I had a great opportunity to buy some really nice stuff at a really deep discount but couldn't take advantage of it.
I still walked out of there having purchased 7 pairs of pants and 3 dress shirts and my total was just under $106 so I can't complain about that at all.
