    Credit score is just a quick look; fortunately, for the more serious (financial) things in life, they look at your credit report.

    BTW, remember to get your free annual credit reports. I've been monitoring mine (with calendar appointment efficiency) since they first started it years ago.

      I use credit karma to access it all year round with an update every 7 days. Not 100% accurate to a True Fico score, but eh it's free. It's just for giggles anyway since I'm not looking to need it anytime soon.

        A friend went into foreclosure then borrowed from his parents the cash to buy the house so he could close. Then later he got a mortgage on the house. There are always ways around credit. I mean literally foreclosure and bought a house less than 1 month later.
