Biggest Barriers to Financial Freedom?

    Car payments and consumer debt keep folks in the poor house.

    The other barrier is the Edward Jones ilk who are out there peddling high priced junk.

      I still feel building wealth is easier then many think, it just needs to be a life long goal and plan.

      I don't mean this as a brag of any sort, just a fact. I was a life long public employee making a good steady wage along with a wife who made maybe half my salary.

      We were able to save for a house, have 3 kids, pay cash for all 3 to go to college and still have a very sizable retirement account.

      This was simply done by saving a certain amount of money out of each paycheck for 30+ years. When someone's in their early 20's, the last thing they think about is saving for the future and the thought of saving a little each payday is almost unheard of. I have friends that retired with me that are literally broke, even with a retirement plan. Simply because they choose to buy nice new trucks, boats and other toys when they shouldn't have.

      Save anyway you can, even a little amount will add up over the years.
